Whiskey On Ice

This song reminds me of my friend TF6S. Well, hopefully not the suicide bit in the last verse. However, if you don't go read his site, he may have some of those tendencies.

Whiskey On Ice is an an old Hank Williams, Jr. tune. Bocephus is a character with whom TF6S would never associate himself, but they do share two things in common; they both enjoy their whiskey on ice and their women on fire.

Woke up this morning tasting Jim Beam
Holding the answer to some ole boy's dream
Got a bad reputation yes I’m a live wire
Like my whiskey on ice
and my women on fire

From Memphis to Mobile I’ve played all the dives
Lord knows I’m lucky just still be alive
I’m an all around rebel and I won’t be denied
Of my whiskey on ice and my women on fire

I like my whiskey on ice and my women on fire
I like a good sounded guitar and I won’t be called a liar
Spent many long nights with a burning desire
for my whiskey on ice and my women on fire

Some folks talk about me guess they always will
They think it’s been an easy ride
and all been down hill
What they dont think about what they dont realize
is the shoes that I’m filling are a mighty big size
One night in Nashville tried to take my life
Cause my friends had all left me and so had my wife
But a fast ride to Florida made me realize
I had some whiskey on ice and some Florida women on fire

I like my whiskey on ice and my women on fire
I like a good sounded guitar and I won’t be called a liar
Spent many long nights with a burning desire
for my whiskey on ice and my women on fire

I like my whiskey on ice and my women on fire
I like a good feelin guitar and I won’t be called a liar
I may grow old but I’ll never grow tired
Of my whiskey on ice and my women on fire

Wow...

Sheri and I caught the Big Head Todd & The Monster's show at Red Rocks last night. Two word review, KICK ASS!

It was a perfect Colorado combo; homegrown BHTM and, in my opinion, the best outside venue in the world. Hazel Miller lended a hand to the Monsters on Let's Get It On, Sister Sweetly, and It's Alright. The typical mix of rock, funk, and blues filled the red amphitheatre. My favorites of the night, in no particular order, were Conquistador, Love Transmission, City Of Fire, and a Dead cover, Friend Of The Devil.

That Funky Monkey

I'm a little bit behind the curve on this, but that is the norm for this site. For those of you using Firefox to cruise the Internet, there is a very shagadelic add-on available called Greasemonkey.

Greasemonkey gives you the ability to write any type of dynamic script to manipulate websites to your liking.

Mozilla provides a link to a nice repo of existing scripts. I'm hoping to work some Jedi magic and publish a few on this site, but we'll see how it turns out.
